  • What are your business hours?

Affordable Bonding Company is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Does your company speak other languages?

Yes, our staff speaks English and Spanish.

  • How is bail set?

After someone is arrested, they are booked by taking their fingerprints and photograph. They will attend a bail hearing right after where the bail amount will be set. Most common crimes have a bail schedule where the judge will determine bail by fixed amounts. With serious crimes, the judge may deny bail.

  • How is the bond fee set?

Affordable Bonding Company does not set the fee. It is set by the state of Connecticut. Typical premiums are in the 10% range.

  • What is a co-sign?

Co-sign is the agreement between you and the court. It’s a guarantee stating that the arrested individual will attend all future court hearings.

  • Will I get in trouble if my loved one doesn’t show up to court?

When you cosign, you take on financial responsibility. If you’re working with a bondsman, your premium is not refundable. While you probably won’t get in trouble if your loved one doesn’t show up, you may also forfeit any collateral put up as part of your guarantee.

  • Should I post bail on my own if I can afford it?

While the decision is up to you, it’s important to note that working with a bondsman means that you will only pay a small premium instead. Keep in mind that if a trial is needed, there are legal fees and other expenses to cover.
